ഈ കടക്കു ബോര്‍ഡ്‌ വേണ്ട. പിയുസ് ചേട്ടന്റെ കട എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ എല്ലാവര്ക്കും അറിയാം. ആയിരത്തി തൊള്ളായിരം അന്‍പത്തി എഴില്‍ ആണ് ഈ കട തുടങ്ങിയത്. അതായതു ഞാന്‍ ജനിക്കുന്നതിനും മുന്‍പേ ഈ കട തുടങ്ങിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. പല മഹാന്മാരും അതുപോലെ തന്നെ സാധാരണ ജനങ്ങളും ഒരുപോലെ ഈ കടയില്‍ നിന്നും ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഒരു ദിവസം ഈ കടയില്‍ ഇരുന്നു വെറുതെ റോട്ടിലെ കുഴികളെ കുറിച്ച് സംസാരിച്ചു. ഒരു കണ്ണ് തുറപ്പിക്കല്‍ പോലെ പിയുസ് ചേട്ടന്‍ ചോദിച്ചു - ഒരു കേസ് കൊടുക്കാന്‍ പാടില്ലേ എന്ന്. അത് വളരെ അര്‍ഥം ഉള്ള ഒരു ചോദ്യം ആയിരുന്നു. എന്റെ ഉള്ളില്‍ കൊണ്ട ചോദ്യം. പിയുസ് ചേട്ടന് എല്ലാ നന്മകളും നേരുന്നു.

Half of my life's sweet and sour memories are linked to you. The faded images of my grand father and grand mother, life with parents and sisters, visits by loving aunties and uncles, those vibrant get together s organized by my parents, the day electricity came to my house and life, the day telephone came to my house and life, the day broadband came to my house, those loving workers at the farm, those coconut harvesting days, negotiations of my mother with the fishermen, weddings of my sisters, my wedding, first nights, the death of my Grandfather, the sight of my father weeping at his feet, the death of my grand mother, the deaths of my father and mother, those evening get togethers at the veranda, days of those thunder storms, where everyone vies for a place on the cot at the prayer room, which is considered as the safest room, those aquariums kept at the veranda, my garage converted office, the work done from the garage converted office, those drinking sprees, those delicious prawns and pork dishes of local flavor made and served with love by my mother, the servants at home, the beautiful garden of my Dad, my first ambassador car, the lonely feeling creeping into me, when the kith and kin departed after my mother's funeral, those recuperating days after a major illness, people coming in asking for help, christmas carols, onam festivals with onakkali competitions, the flying arrows shuttle club, those foot ball matches with 'bambloos naranga'', kuttiyum kolum kali ( a local game similar to cricket), the noise of the celebrations from the neighbourhood, the noise of prayers from the nearby houses..........the list is incomplete......

Now we have decided to demolish you to construct a new one. Thank you dear for sheltering us and protecting us. Instead of the word 'demolish'', i must use the word 'ímprove'', because you cannot be separated from us. You are part of us......

Royal palm gardens

Is a villa project nearing completion, located at Puthenpally, very near to the puthenpally church. It is just 7 km from edappally, which is fast becoming the epicenter of Kochi. The only bottle neck between Varapuzha and Edappally is the delayed railway over bridge at Edappally, which is creating traffic jams on the varapuzha - edappally route. Now the government has awarded this project to a reputed construction group, and they have already started work on this project. Knowing this, the demand for land in this area is on the upward spiral. This is the right time to invest in this area.

When I visited this project site recently, I was slightly disappointed because the quality of work and the progress of work are excellent. I had an opportunity to invest in this project a couple of years back, which i did not do, instead I invested in another project near Alwaye, which is really limping. When I compare this project with the other one where I invested, I must really admire the team behind this project. My best wishes to them for all their future endeavors.

Kadamakkudy visit

Kadamakkudy is a village on the suburbs of Kochi city (45 minutes drive from the city), and is a delight for any nature loving person. The ideal time to visit this place is either early mornings or in the evenings. I could not find any decent hotels there, so it will be always better, if you can carry your own supply of food and water. If you are a budget traveler, then these are the alternate routes to reach there;

Take any bus from Ernakulam, via Varapuzha. Get down at the SNDP junction bus stop (45 minutes from Ernakulam). Take an autorikshaw. Thats it. If you are more adventure seeking, then rent a bicycle from çhettibhagam, which is walkable distance from the SNDP junction.

Another option is to take a boat from Ernakulam boat jetty to pizhala, and take the ferry service to Kadamakkudy.

As a tourist, I long for these facilities there;

A place to have food
Some paying guest accommodation
Some camping sites

Will the authorities who promote tourism in this country see these humble requests of mine?.

In the name of development, what they should not be doing here is allowing construction of concrete buildings to house posh hotels. That will spoil the natural charm of this place. I am enjoying this place maximum, before that happens. Only a very few places in Kerala are left like this.
